2017 S0UL3D ØUT Petite Sirah

What excites me most about this Petite Sirah based blend is how accurately it shows the vineyards it’s sourced from. Stolpman and Slide Hill Vineyards always show tremendous power paired with pure fruit, searing acidity, and vibrant freshness. For a Petite Sirah this is pretty elegant, and yes I think that is an oxymoron but so is this wine. Aged in all 225L Barrique, 54% being New French Oak for 17 months. In the glass, it is a few shades lighter than black. This savage smells like every berry on planet earth with waves of black and blue fruit upfront and small currents of vibrant red fruit just behind it. Chalky, crunchy tannins lead to an epically long mineral coated finish. This blend sees the most Grenache we’ve used in our Central Coast Petite Sirah blend to-date, and I’m really digging it. We also added a small dash of Slide Hill Syrah for pepper, tobacco and savory aromatic support. If you must open upon delivery, decant for 2+ hours. Enjoy it over the next 10 years +
