2017 S0UL3D ØUT Syrah

Without a doubt, one of the most hedonistic Syrahs we’ve made to date. This wine walks the line between cool-climate aromatics of coastal Syrah and the lusher textural representations of warmer growing regions of Syrah. This wine is absolutely opaque purple in the glass. Aged in a whopping 84% New French Oak, divvied up between both 500L Puncheons, and 225L Barriques for 17 months. Loads of dense blackberry blast out of the glass, brown sugar, olive tapenade, bacon fat, smoke, and charred oak. We dosed this beast with tiny amounts of Petite Sirah for added depth, and Roussane for floral intrigue and to widen an already expansive mouthfeel. Upon release, I’d recommend a 2 hour decant before enjoying at cellar temperature. This wine will no doubt last for up to 10 years +
